Description:

Scanning pets and retrieving the microchip number is a standard feature included with your PetScanner at no extra charge. PetScanner is capable of reading FDX-B microchips implanted in pets, allowing you to access the chip number. When scanning a pet, the following three potential outcomes may occur:

<ul>
<li>If the pet is registered with PetScanner, the contact details of the owner will be displayed.</li>
<li>If the pet is registered with another service, PetScanner will indicate which database contains information regarding that chip number and provide the corresponding contact details.</li>
<li>If the pet is not registered with any database or cannot be located, only the chip number will be displayed.</li>
</ul>

Additionally, PetScanner offers optional registration services along with PetScanner Pet Protection. Upon encountering an unregistered pet, users are presented with an option to register the pet with PetScanner for enhanced protection:

<ul>
<li>Registration involves a one-time payment of £2.99 per pet for DEFRA-compliant microchip registration. This fee grants lifelong access to updating contact information and enables individuals who scan your pet to contact you in case it gets lost or stolen.</li>
<li>PetScanner Pet Protection is available starting at just £0.99 per month and provides advanced microchip protection features. Benefits include instant notifications when your pet's chip is scanned using a PetScanner and when queried on any other DEFRA-compliant chip lookup tool.</li>
</ul>
